    Default Newbie!

I have tried to set up a wireless connection on my Google Nexus 7. It picked up the connection immediately but then said there was a problem with the verification.

When I checked the wireless key I printed off when my router was installed the last three letters were : D2C
However on the tablet these appear as DC2

I obviously will have to contact my server but wondered if anyone had had a similar experience and had any advice to offer.

This is my first tablet and find the lack of "instructions" baffling!

    My thanks in advance.

you mean the password to connect? If so, that means you typed it wrong.

Are you talking about the network ID? If so, you are hitting the wrong network or the printout is wrong.

I don't think any amount of instruction manual would help you with this.

Hitting Wifi is pretty cut and try. You tap the network you want, enter the password if needed, and click connect.

No I am aware no manual can help : it's a router/server problem and I have contacted TalkTalk.

The manual comment was an aside. I just wish it had a manual.

    Thank you, Diknak..

There is a very good manual. It is in the play store and it is called the Nexus 7 guide book. You can download it to your tablet.

Sent from my Nexus 4 using Android Central Forums

If the tablet shows DC2 then that is probably what you entered. Go the wireless connection and click "forget " then retry setting up the wifi, being sure to enter the correct letters.

I should have said "problem with authentication".

I have done as you suggested, gtt1, but it doesn't pick up that at all. So DC2 must be correct. It won't accept the password!

My three year old PC was built for me and I stupidly forgot to ask for wireless to be included. It wasn't and every off the shelf PC I had bought previously had this installed. I have an Ethernet connection but a second PC nearby does have wireless. I use a wireless keyboard.

I have contacted TalkTalk to ask for help but e-mail takes ages. The Sparks engineer can't be here before the 25th!

Diknak: I agree. It should be an easy process. I was so thrilled to find the connection recognized ("Excellent" ) without my having to type that in. All the more disappointing that authentication isn't recognised.

Pontiac005 and Mr_Nobody : Thanks for the recommendations. I'll certainly seek those out.
