Now that a 7-inch, Nexus branded tablet has appeared at the FCC with some updated specs, are you interested in getting a new one? I'm pretty excited as this was exactly what I was waiting for to go full on Google across my devices. I've already ordered a Nexus 4, I currently own a Samsung Chromebook, and now a new Nexus 7 is just around the corner. Hopefully it's enough to get rid of my $h!t iPad mini. Now I'm just hoping to see a refreshed Nexus 10 with 64GB hit the FCC soon.

Depends. I love my Day One N7 even though it's a little sluggish. For me to consider upgrading, the next gen N7 would have to have substantial spec upgrades (processor, memory, speakers, screen resolution) for me to consider it.
Price matters too, figure I could at least $125 for my N7 which is in perfect shape, which would help in getting a new one.

Maybe after I see how the battery life is on the new one and if there are any other problems. Last week I bought an iPad Mini and i'm having more fun with that than I ever did with my Nexus 7 because I can actually use it without wondering how long I can use it for.

Same here. And though I enjoy my iPad mini, the display sucks a$$ when you're used to using the retina iPad. I hope the next Nexus 7 delivers.

I have the iPad Mini and current Nexus 7. The Nexus 7 lags a lot for me, especially after viewing magazines. I would upgrade for a better screen or better performance. It'd be nice if the screen was bigger too, although I don't now if I see that happening.

I'm buying it! I've been wanting to buy a Nexus 7 lately but saw no point in getting the current version since it was so outdated (compared to my Nexus4). Still waiting for some more details about the device, but it's very likely that I'll buy one on launch day.

So excited. :D

I'm not sure but I imagine that the magazine is using up a large amount of the RAM as it is probably rendering/caching the next/previous few pages. By doubling the RAM, I would think you would see that less.

yeah, the screen lift is really bugging me and I can tell a performance difference between my N4 and N7, so I would love an upgrade.

I received a Nexus 7 (8gb) for free. (Long story don't ask) lol :P I love it! I'm using it right now :D
But I think I'd like to definitely consider the new one. 4gLTE would be nice, a 1920x1080 screen would be fantastic, and the s4 pro would run nicely. Maybe Google will put out 4.3 with it :D

My Nexus 7 is good enough for me, it looks like the new one still has a 16:10 aspect ratio, and that's what annoys me the most about my Nexus 7, the screen isn't wide enough, especially when viewing PDFs. If they made the screen a bit wider with the same form factor I'd probably upgrade, but as it is I think I'll wait until the 3rd gen Nexus 7.

Definitely a buy. I had a Nexus 7, loved it, then lost it. I now have a Nexus 10, but it's not the same. Looking forward to having an updated N7.

Is there any 7in android tablet you guys can recommend? My house is already filled with Apple stuff i would like to vary it. I was going to get the Nexus but it doesn't seem to be a good idea anymore..

What makes you think that? The new Nexus 7 is looks to be shaping up very well.

NO i am talking about the current model. I didn?t know about the new one until reading this post. I am not in the States but my sister is coming to visit me end of July would the new Nexus be out then you think?

I've read that the next generation N7 will be released some time in July. What country do you live in? Before you consider getting any Android device, make sure that there won't be any regional issues. The Google Play Store (essentially Google's Appstore) is not available in all countries. I am currently in Mexico for the next few years, so that is a concern, but Google has been expanding its services here. Here?s to hoping for a July release.

I would love to buy it but I'm waiting to see what the next nexus phone has to offer

I was thinking about waiting and getting the N7 2, but decided to just save a few bucks and pick up the current model on sale. It's not my primary tablet...I mainly wanted it to replace my useless PlayBook as my travel/go anywhere tab.

Definitely keeping an eye on it. If it's as good as the current Nexus 7, I'll probably pick one up (been wanting to, but decided to wait to see what the refresh looked like).
