Nexus 9 Updating to 7.1.1 Issues

OK. I may have finally hit my first issue with updating software on a mobile device. I'm hoping someone could help me out here.

I have a Nexus 9.
Stock, not rooted or anything.
32 GB
WiFi only

I tried installing the 7.1.1 update, and now all it does is flash the Google logo forever. I tried a clear cache and factory reset. Is my Nexus 9 officially dead? Which would really be bad since I'm pretty sure it's out of any sort of warranty period by now.
