Curious as to if any of you got your Nexus One and it had some sort of hardware defect such as dead pixels, dust under the screen, etc...

Sound off in this thread.

I'll sound off:
I've found absolutely nothing wrong with the build quality of this phone.

It feels solid like a tank in the hand, the OLED display hasn't exhibited any dead pixels and generally it feels like it could take a beating (haven' tested this..!!).

Long story short -- I'm amused because my news applet keeps popping up stories with headlines to the tune of "nexus one huge effing dissapointment", however if you read the body the point is:

Sure, the Nexus one is the fastest android cellphone with the most vibrant screen. Sure it's backed by Google and will most likely remain on the cutting edge of OS updates. BUT -- some people (ok, a bunch, but I'm not one of them) are having 3G issues, and _oh noez_ Google didn't do _enough_ with this phone to make it worth while.

Ok -- I've gone on a tangent; it's late and I'm tired.

tl;dr:
Built like a rock. No issues whatsoever.

No issues here either. Built very well. In fact much better than I thought it would be built just from looking at leaked photos ect, which did not do it any justice.

Huge thread on XDA about dust under the screen and people having their phones swapped out. HTC claims it's a known issue - I bet... either way it boggles my mind how this happens to devices like it's so tough to make sure the screen is sealed properly...

Dust under the screen definitely reminds me of RIM's faulty design of the Storm.

my Nexus One seems to be solidly built... no hardware or quality issues noted yet... very impressed with it... so much more so than a BB 9700 that I had for a few days...

as much as i like my iphone - had a 2G that died an untimely water death on a snowboard trip, and then a 3GS to replace it... i think the Nexus form factor feels better in hand... the shape, the texture especially! (i will say, i like my 2G iphone MUCH better than the 3G/3GS "slippery bar of soap" form factor... the Nexus brings back some of what I like about my 2G)...

Some directly from the factory and others get it because the seal around the screen is not sealed properly. This has been a huge issue with the latest HTC devices and is not uncommon in some other devices. Just a LOT with HTC...

Same here, no build quality problems at all on mine. Works as good as I thought it would.
