Does Google's hdr plus use median blending?

I know you can take multiple shots and use median blending in Photoshop to reduce noise and increase detail. Anyone know if googles hdr plus software processing already does that?

Pretty much, it takes multiple exposure shots, each one with different exposure while taking pictires in the background,so when you click the shutter button of your pixel, the processing of hdr+ stitches and creates a more detailed photo. So ye pretty much same thing lol

I went ahead and tested this. Results are surprising - median blending a bunch of photos shot in burst mode produces a noisier/worse quality photo than Google's own HDR+. Looks like Google knows more about post processing than photoshop.

Here are the results, in case anyone's interested. I shot 8 photos and blended them in photoshop for each original you see below. Zooming to 100% in both clearly shows Google's image is superior.
