Why did my visual voicemail readouts disappear?

My Pixel's visual voicemail was working fine until a few days ago. I disabled the Verizon app because I thought Google had an independent feature. My readouts discontinued, so I reinstalled the Verizon app. I still don't get the readouts with the Premium. I do understand that the Pixel doesn't support the Verizon app, but something worked before. How do I get those back?

If you're on Verizon, it's built into the dialer app. Last tab. The Verizon Visual Voicemail app isn't supported on the Pixels.
