Default HTC One GPe: AT&T Compatibility!!

Based on what i am seeing is this really compatible with ATT LTE? I went to ATT site to look at the carrier one and the LTE Bands listed there are no where to be found on Googles site.

Probably because it is a different version of LTE. LTE-Advanced.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the lte advance is built into the 801 processor, so the phone just needs to support the frequency bands. From what I seen on Android central specs on the Google edition, it should support the lte advance.

You may be right. I was honestly taking a guess.

Copied directly from the GPE Page:

    1) Compatible with AT&T and T-Mobile in the US. Check with your carrier for details about coverage.

    Network
    Unlocked GSM/UMTS/HSPA+/LTE
    GSM/GPRS/EDGE quad-band 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
    HSPA/UMTS quad-band 850/AWS/1900/2100 MHz
    3G (850, 1900, 2100 MHz)
    HSDPA 21, HSUPA 5.76
    4G LTE (700 MHz, AWS)

Copied directly from the Nexus 5 page:

    Network
    2G/3G/4G LTE
    GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
    CDMA: Band Class: 0/1/10
    WCDMA: Bands: 1/2/4/5/6/8/19
    LTE: Bands: 1/2/4/5/17/19/25/26/41

Don't know what the difference is, really. I hope it works on AT&T LTE since I ordered one to replace my Nexus 5, which works fine on AT&T LTE.

At&t uses the LTE 700 spectrum. So the M8 will work

Thanks. After a bit of research I noticed that as well. I would have been shocked if it didn't. Man I'm loving the switch from Verizon to AT&T.

it looks like the nexus 5 supports all of the LTE bands where is the GPE of the M8 only supports just one LTE band for ATT so that would not be a good option based on that you might as well get the unlocked or developers edition and save money its only 649.00

So what does this mean? I really would prefer to have the stock Android experience without having to root to get there. I'm confused on all this different spectrum crap.

If I find out for sure, I may have to get the unlocked key version and run Nova on it. I'm just such a huge fan of the stock Android experience.

So am I to bad it's not really listed out in full all bands like they do for the nexus 5 or else I would pay the extra but I want to be sure and I can't find it anywhere I could always return the att one once the gpe actually ships if it's better

FWIW, the 2013 GPE One says the same thing regarding LTE, and I don't think it had any issues with AT&T LTE that I'm aware of.

I asked this question in the Phandroid forums, too, and someone chimed in about the GPE M7 on AT&T and said he had no issue using it on AT&T and LTE was fine.

Wow so much confusion.. It's pretty simple. Google play edition M8 has all the bands that ATT model has + it also has the AWS 1700 HSPA band. Basically the mother of all M8. If you buy the GPE you basically are fully covered on ATT and T-Mobile. No missing bands or anything, it has everything.

Go read the first page of anandtech review and he clears all the confusion about radios.
