Can you change your Project Fi number after you've started service?

I know you can get a new Fi number when you start (and therefore lose your old GV number), but if you later on decided you wanted to change your Fi number, is there a way to do it? Is there a fee?

I can speak from experience. I wanted to port a number over to FI after I had the service for around 3 months. I contacted the service reps via chat on my account page. Explained, she had me give her the number, then had me open the FI app on my phone which then walked me through the process of inputting my new number and account information from my old service and it then activated and wala done! =) about 5 minutes I believe was the process maybe a bit longer but not over 10 minutes. Super easy!
