Default MX player update is out for ICS!

Can people with GN's try and see if this works correctly? I would prefer to use MX player over the glitchy Dice Player.

Downloaded and I was able to watch videos and pinch to zoom. Never used mx before so let me know if you have any particular features you want tested.

if you have any 720p videos or 1080p video samples that are mkv. I would like to know if they run smoothly. (h.264 format, xvid, divx).

This was my biggest fear moving from GS2 to GN. I want to make sure i can throw a movie for a plane trip and watch it.

Also when viewing the movie, does it take up the entire 4.6in real estate or do you see the buttons.

Sorry, not sure if i have any of those files. I'll check tomorrow.

The software buttons stay on the screen and I can't find a way to get rid of them.

The Swedish site Swedroid claimed GN was the only phone that could play all their test videos.

If you don't have them, I can send you a link to download small sample files to test.

So i tested a few 720p mkv files. When I ran it under H/W Decoder, it ran laggy. S/W decoder was better but still a bit slow. S/W Decoder (fast mode) ran just fine. Video looked good when it plays, but the file doesn't extend all the way across the screen because the software buttons don't go away.
