Re: You guys tried S Voice yet?
I tried it and was very dissapointed that it didnt work.
It ran fine and everything, but it kept giving me connection errors when going online to recognize what I said. - 06-01-2012, 09:24 AM #4
Re: You guys tried S Voice yet?
It does weather nicely. After that, it kept telling me my appointment for "today": one for June 14th (Flag Day) and one for June 17th (father's day).
About as useful as Siri
[I'm sure it's because I don't "get it", lol]
(Oh, I did Phil's Wood Chuck test. It answered correctly....) - 06-01-2012, 10:44 PM #5

Re: You guys tried S Voice yet?
It's nothing special. S-Voice can't even recognize its wakeup command when it's running in the background! That's something I really appreciate with Jarvis and EVA: I can stick my phone in its dock, have Tasker auto-launch one of those apps in the background, and display the clock.

Re: You guys tried S Voice yet?
Tried it. It would wake up when I gave the command. But ANY attempts to make use of it would trigger an error -- cannot connect to the network or something.
I suspect its not available for use in Canada -- just like Google Wallet, Google Music, Google Voice, and some other neat (but rather useless right now) apps. - 06-07-2012, 03:15 PM #9
Re: You guys tried S Voice yet?
Tried it and compared it to a few others, turns out the Google search is far more efficient but much less flashy. Out of 10 tries each Google search got 8, S-Voice got 6. So for my preference, I will take Google search and function of flash everyday....

Re: You guys tried S Voice yet?
I've had no luck with it whatsoever. Server problems apparently, it refuses to wake, a d even the simplest commands are misunderstood . *sigh*
Can't wait for Project Majel

Re: You guys tried S Voice yet?
I've tried about every Siri type app out there, for me hard to beat Google Search for simplicity and accuracy. From the makers of S Voice, been using Vlingo Labs Beta for the last couple of weeks and really like it. Recently got a JawBone JamBox and they work very well together hands-free. It's currently limited and can't do all of what Vlingo can do, but it can schedule appointments and give your schedule in addition to texting, calling and searching.
