Buying a nexus for 130$, bad esn
I have an EVO lte and wanted a nexus badly. Came across a good deal on craigslist with a bad esn. I'm mainly wanting it for a full android experience, I hate having skins over android, especially sense. Only using for music, Web browsing, and it doesn't hurt to have it laying around.
Just introducing myself to this board, as I am always in the EVO and transformer forums.
My name is Justy(i)n.

Re: Buying a nexus for 130$, bad esn
Welcome to AC, the Nexus is a great phone, but if you're asking if you will be able to use the phone with a bad esn, you will, but only on wifi. No carrier will activate a phone with a bad esn, as it could be anything from a stolen phone to a phone will an unpaid bill.
$130 is a good price, but if it was me, I wouldn't touch it.
Who knows what is bad about the phone, and if it was stolen, I just wouldn't want to be part of that.
I would save up if possible, as if you did at one point want to put on a carrier, you would be unable to do so. - 06-18-2012, 11:26 AM #3
Re: Buying a nexus for 130$, bad esn
Not to be a drag, but aren't ESN numbers usually associated with CDMA phones? I just want to clarify that there are separate forums for the Sprint and Verizon variants of the Galaxy Nexus as well.
Verizon Galaxy Nexus
Sprint Galaxy Nexus
Again, please don't take this the wrong way, I'm not trying to be a jerk about it, but it might start confusing people if we clutter up the forums, that's all.
Anyways, my advice would be to leave it alone. Selling it for $130 just "screams" there might be something else wrong with it, or worse, it's a "hot" item. Good luck in your decision. : ) - 06-18-2012, 11:32 AM #4

Uhh the Nexus S is a very different phone from the Galaxy Nexus. The forum you want is this one...
