Standard E-mail using almost 30BG of data!

I received a alert stating that I've almost reached my data cap (I have unlimited data). So I clicked it, and saw that my E-mail was using almost 20GB of data this month! So I checked my Verizon account and they are recording over 37GB of data!! I don't know what's going on, or why my standard e-mail (the icon that says E-mail with the yellow envelope) is using so much! It's only my Yahoo! account. Has anyone else had this issue, or know what is going on? I am happy with unlimited, but I most certainly don't waste every bit of it for no reason.

Looks like a serious syncing problem with Yahoo that's making it fetch email over and over again.

I remember seeing posts about this ages ago, was a Yahoo issue of some type.
