Hey,

I'm having a difficult time updating my Gnexus to the new jelly bean software.
When I update, I get the following error:

assert feiled: apply_patch_check("EMMC:/dev/block/platform/omap/omap_hsmmc.0/by-name/boot:4470784:bce1a69286de41cc4a372bf3bb17131bf708c2a60:4472832:2aadadd4d29644b56f078e074ca3a85123229fb6")

I have unlocked my Gnexus, rooted and has the Franco Kernel (Nightly #298). I have already tried with another recovery than stock (first I tried with Clockwork, then reflashed the stock and retried).

Can anyone give some advice on what to do?

I had the same problem. I had to flash the stock rom, Then update. Then re-Root. From what I have read if you make any change in the,Kernel, Removing Pre-Installed Apps ect. will cause the OTA to fail. And yes it did wipe my phone.

its not a problem. its how things works. for example if you have windows and you installed linux after that how can you expect to get update from microsoft for linux. its just stupid.
