Is it possible to put Android Tablet apps on Android Phones?

I've recently been getting more and more interested in the possibilities of rooting and sideloading. I'd like to know as the title says, is there a way that I can get to use a tablet app on my Galaxy Nexus?

If an app has both tablet and phone UIs you can use paranoid android. But if an app is limited to tablets only...I wonder if you can sideload.

Paranoid Android according to my research requires root access and I have no experience with that. I'd like to learn but, I don't have an old device that I can practice on.
