OK, just got my Galaxy Nexus and I have noticed that it only shows 700mb of ram?! Why is that? 300mb in spare for os is bit too much...

OS and core functions use up that 300 or so megs. I run about 500 MB free with normal use and the apps I use running.

So when you go settings>apps>running, then you combine free+used ram, how much it shows?

Around 700 as well.
Don't worry, android manages RAM well and 700MB is mostly sufficient. The rest is for the system. It'll run fine.

even if it says 1 Gb RAM it wont be having 1024 mb. it will be less just like hard disk when you buy a 120 gb the formatted would be a less.

so 700 free sounds about right. like mentioned above starting with ICS Android manages RAM and memory better.
