HELP clicked yes for ota update after rooting now stuck on google screen

ok so this might be silly naive and ignorant, but i seam to of made a colossal balls up and need some help il take you through what i have done step by step

1. own samsung galaxy nexus (GSM-UK) jelly bean 4.1 never rooted
2. decided to see what all the fuss was about coming from iphone and being a dab hand i set about rooting my phone
3. rooted device to stock 4.2
4. downloaded rom manager
5. flashed clockwork recovery mod
6. (BALLS UP MOMENT) oh hey theres an ota update accept
this is where everything went downhill
7.relised my mistake and clicked no when it mentioned root fix in CWM
8. stuck now on Google logo with the unlock at bottom
9. tried to pull battery and reboot... still stuck on logo
10. vol up + down + power -> recovery -> reboot system now = stuck on google screen
10 vol up + down + power ->install zip from sdcard -> choose zip from sdcard = not much there just the following - 0/, -legacy/, ogg/, and of course go back

so as you can imagine im pulling my hair out now im 26 i need my phone for work and really dont wanna turn to my blackberry

factory reset from CWM recovery

fixed it with tool kit that was pain as there was nothing for my mac so had to dust of the the old vaio to run it
