can't save changes to build.prop after 4.3 update?

so yesterday I flashed the new 4.3 is version to my gnexus and everything is great. except the fact that I can no longer save any changes I try to make to my build.prop file. does anyone have any ideas as to why this is? have they prevented users from doing so? I am rooted.. however su also won't update binaries..

I had the same issue, I simply forgot to allow the R/W on system files.
For this, you have to go in ES Explorer > root explorer > R/W mount
