Android mini PC stuck on screensaver

We have a 'MK 809 II android 4.2 mini PC' which has been great up until yesterday when for the first time I turned it off with the remote (usually we just unplug it) the remote is a iPazzPort 2.4G Mini Fly Air Mouse Remote. However, instead of it just turning off it went to what I think is the Google smart TV screensaver which is a black screen with four coloured circles (red, blue, green and yellow) bouncing into the middle and out again. We have tried everything but cannot get it to leave this screen so we can access our Apps. When we pull out the power lead then plug it back in it comes up with a screen that first says Smart TV then Google TV then the bouncing coloured circles. Can any kind person help please.
