Android TV Box YouTube App - Pair Device

Hello, I was Googling all night and never found a solid answer to this. I have an Android TV box running 4.4.2. I want to use a YouTube app that is actually built to run on the TV. Currently I have 'YouTube for Google TV' which seems to be the same app running on my Roku streaming stick; however, there is no option in settings to 'Pair Device'. I really love that I can 'cast' YouTube videos to my Roku and create playlists on the fly. It's so much easier to search for videos on my phone than using the search on the TV. I tried installing the 'YouTube for Android TV' app but I get an error when installing from Aptoide for some reason. I have the Google Play Services 8.3.01 which is what the Play Store provided as an update to the original version that came with the device.
