I'm looking for a new Android tablet. I can't justify spending a ton of money, but I could probably go for $200-300. This is not intended to carry around, but to stay in our office, and control a few items.

I need it to be up to date, and not doing anything funky with the interface. Kindle Fire tablets are not going to work with one of the apps I'm going to need.

My first stop was the AC list of devices, but they don't have anything that's more recent than 2013. Not useful.

    Thanks!

The ZenPad S 8.0 is worth a look (although I think it's only updated to Marshmallow, without any definite plan for Nougat). ASUS ZenPad S 8.0 review | Android Central

Although the Nexus 9 was released back in 11/2014, it's also worth considering.
