Most Android OEMs use different skins but the core files are all the same, so if the Galaxy S7/S7 edge had problems and I think that some people are still having some issues with Wifi, then it's most likely most if not all other devices sharing same OS versions have the same problem, of course, if it's software related and not a problem of the wifi radio.
2 things that have been discussed about Wifi issues since last year with Lollipop has been to force the wifi connection to use 2.4ghz instead of the 5ghz (an easy fix on the HTC 10 as the wifi setting provides for this) and the latest wifi issues were around the IPv6 protocol, so for people with wifi issues it was recommended to force the router (if possible) to use IPv4 instead, some people can do this other can't due to the router settings or even the ISP provider not allowing it.
People with WIFI issues can try any or both of the above settings and see if in HTC's case is just like the other OEMs, I guess so. But one thing is for sure, there IS a WIFI issue, but it's not affecting everybody, that's why the IPv4 and 2.4ghz have been suggested and tested in many cases to fix the issue. It won't hurt to try them.
