    Default HTC Aria Rooted

The good folks at XDA have already made quick work of the Aria and rooted it, using the mytouch 3g slide method.

I assume this means you can turn off the sideloading ban? I guess I am still confused on exactly what rooting means (even after I read the AC article). Does it change anything about the Android features, other than allowing you to go in and add or delete stuff? Does rooting automatically strip stuff out or change the appearance at all?

Nope rooting doesn't touch the look or strip anything out.It just give you complete control of your phone.Think of it like a computer, there's just those time you need to be admin to do things thats kind of how root is.You need root to delete stock apps,to flash custom rom or themes its a good thing.

Once it is rooted, how easy is it to add back the sideloading option? Does it come back automatically? Or, is it just a simple switch in some menu? Or do you have to do some more work to get that feature back?

It won't just come back automatically. Im sure with all the great developers there are someone will get it put back in there, but it'll probably be in a custom rom. Also someone will probably find away to put it in the stock rom (with root),if it possible. I would surely mess around with it if i had att or the phone, but if someone could get me a dump that would be cool.

    Default Easy Aria Rooting

Follow this link for a simple all in one rooting. I could not figure out why unrevoked3 was not rooting my phone properly. You will be asked to make a Ubuntu liveCD that does it all for you.
