My settings on my Eris (2.1):
Under "people"/"view contacts" I do NOT have the box checked for facebook contacts. The only boxes checked are for Google & Gmail and the one that says "only contacts with phone number" (and I've tried unchecking that and it does not seem to have an effect on what I'm talking about below).
In Handcent I DO NOT have the checkbox checked under 'social network settings'/'show social contacts'
Yet, in Handcent when I compose a brand new message and start typing in a contact I have contacts show up from Facebook that have telephone numbers attached to their FB accounts (and, again, these do NOT show up in my phone contacts list).
I do have myself connected with FB for HTC Sense - if I disconnect that way my little facebook pictures don't show up in Handcent.
It appears to do the same thing in the stock messaging app as well.
I like Handcent because you can customize ringers for individual texters and that's the main reason I use it.
What I would like is for my FB contacts to NOT come up unless they happen to be in my phone book too.
Anybody have any ideas? I can't seem to find a solution.
