I've noticed that my Eris is running more slowly since the recent OTA update. And I've also had problems with it (twice today) shutting down on it's own while it wasn't even being used. Is this an update issue which, it would follow, would be remedied with the next update? Anybody else running into this?

I'm having the same issue, so if somebody can shed some light on this issue it would be much appreciated.

Complain to HTC about it, so we can get something done about it, that is if they find it to be an issue.

I have noticed performance improvements in the Eris since the OTA update - however I have noticed issues with the device freezing and lagging since I had it (no real change with the update). The best thing I have done to prevent these issues from occurring is the frequent use of the TasKiller app. I kill all applications that I am not using - that don't give you an option to quit such apps within the apps. The FREE edition works great and make sure to only kill apps running that are non-essential. Don't kill apps like "HTC Sense" "com.htc..." etc.

I had a few issues with the screen going fuzzy the whole day after the updat but it went away. And it also seems to have messed up Google Voice for me. But other than that the battery life has improved, and it seems as snappy as ever.

Let's hope so. However, it may just be an OS update solely - and not include any performance or maintenance updates. We won't know until we know.

My phone is running much slower and I have had to reset my phone 5 to 6 times since I got the update. I never had any problems before the update. I also can't type as fast because the phone bogs down while I'm typing.

I can't say either way but I just got the phone and the update got pushed through with my first power up. It seems snappy though. My three previous phones are the iPhone 3g, storm 9530, and storm 9550.
