I'm sure this will happen... HTC obviously wants to get the 2.0 on its HTC Hero and it would be stupid to not want to push this out the the Eris and help it sell... especially since it's competing with the Droid.

i wonder if they'll get it out this year though, samsung is saying they won't have 2.0 until 2010...

they have announced that the hero will be skipping the 1.6 doughnut and jumping to eclair. as popular as this phone is, i 'm sure it will be soon.

HTC Hero has been upgrade to 2.1 already, obviously not an official release but still that means its working and should be no doubt its coming

Yeah if only Eris had root then a dev could format this ROM for the Eris and we'd all be feeling all giddy inside.
