What I'm looking for are earbuds that sit in the outer ear and not plugs that go in the inner ear. I want earbuds because I want something I can easily put in my pocket and at times listen with just one ear when I also want to hear what is going on around me. These are mostly for commuting, at work or when I'm someplace that it's either too loud for the phone's speaker or innapropriate to play over the phone's speaker.
In most cases this type of headphone really lacks low end sound. The best of this type I have listened to are the Bose in-ear headphones. Generally not a Bose fan but I thought the fit was comfortable for me and comparatively they sounded better. However they are not very durable. The spot where the wire meets the earbud seems to keep having issues and I don't want to spend the money to replace them a few times a year.
I know I won't get the best sound qaulity with this type of headphone at under $100 but I want something decent. Others that I have tried sound just as bad as the earbuds that are included with most mp3 players.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated especially if they can be found at Best Buy and I can get them with my employee discount.
