Root/Chainfire question

Is Chainfire 3d available for our phones? I'd be interested, as from what I've been reading our devices supposedly can smoke Tegra 2 chipsets, and I'd like to try some of the Tegrazone games.

My other question is: This requires root. Now, from my understanding (and a lot of googling), root is essentially jailbreaking, and installing a new ROM is like installing a new OS. If I simply want to root and install Chainfire, I don't loose an of my information, correct?? (Although yes, I do have it backed up!!

I dont know about chainfire 3d mod for our phones. I looked at his thread and he made no mention of our device...

But yes, you are correct about root and roms, etc.

There are 3 zip files you need to be able to install chainfire on the 3D. I installed viperROM and the zips are on my sd card. Give me a minute I'll post them

Ok, here are the 3 zips you need to put on the root of your sd card. Then install Chainfire. I have not done this myself yet but this was the way it was explained to me when I asked about it.

I just installed it and was I am not able to see any Tegra games in the market. I have the nvidia plugin.

Anyone able to get this going?

I've tried them too.. everytime I tried a plugin, the pictures in gallery would be distorted... Think something needs to be tweaked for chainfire to truly work for the EVO 3D.. :/
