Re: Offering Root Service
wait... you can root my EVO 3D with the latest updates installed (including the one that installed HBOOT 1.5) ??
If so, please let me know how (I'd love to have my EVO 3D rooted) because from what I know (very limited, yes), nobody has been able to root after the last update to HBOOT was installed. - 12-12-2011, 04:37 PM #8

Re: Offering Root Service
Is this a new root method you developed? Or are you using the HTC official method (that doesn't give S-off)?

Re: Offering Root Service
Ah, thanks for the clarification. I was thinking that this was a new way (non-HTC way). The HTC method could cause warranty issues, so I've been holding off for now. But thanks for offering to root other folk's phones for them. I'm sure a lot of them must be just not comfortable doing that on their own. - 12-13-2011, 11:19 AM

Re: Offering Root Service
Well, with non-HTC rooting, you can unroot and take it back - Sprint/HTC won't know about it. (I did this with my EVO 4G)
Once you root with the HTC method, they KNOW that you are rooted and there is nothing you can do about it.
Holding on forever? Possibly - unless some developers come up with a way to root HBOOT 1.5
If/when that happens, I will happily root (again, only with non-HTC method) - 12-13-2011, 03:47 PM

Re: Offering Root Service
To get the unique phone specific unlock code, you have to provide your phone serial number and your Email ID to HTC, and you also have to acknowledge that you "may" not be eligible for warranty anymore.
And since HTC knows this, you can bet this will be shared with Sprint
(Per the local sprint store representatives, they now check with HTC before any insurance claims too - even if it is going to Asurion for TEP - may be true, may be BS - I don't know for sure)
Sorry, didn't mean to derail your post. - 12-21-2011, 08:10 PM #18
