Need Guidance!

Ok I finally got my EVO rooted it has Hboot 1.5
What I would like to know because after hours of searching I have found out if you flash a custom rom you lose 4g and I think wi-fi and neither am I willing to part with.
I was thinking of using clean rom since all I really want to do is get rid of the bloatware. Unless there is a more stable/better rom please let me know.
And exactly how to keep wifi and 4g.
I was on XDA forums and there is a post that says use flash image gui.
That is one of the most confusing threads I have read. ( I have read it at least a half a dozen times)
So if someone can either give me non confusing instructions or point me in the right direction to do this.
Like I said I am on hboot 1.5.

P.S. all I really want to do is get rid of all the bloatware so if there is a way to do that without flashing a custom rom please feel free to let me know.

All you have to do to get wifi and 4G on a custom ROM is flash the kernel that goes with that ROM.
If you use Flash GUI it makes it pretty simple.
Download Flash GUI from the market (it is well worth the $.99 for 1.5 users)
Download the ROM you want to flash.
Place the ROM on the root of your SD card.
Open Flash GUI
Select the option to flash kernel. It will scan for any boot.img on your Sd card.
Flash the kernel
Now boot into recovery (assuming you have flashed a custom recovery)
Wipe Cache, Dalvik cache, and factory reset (you are going to lose all data on your phone)
Install zip of ROM
Reboot and enjoy.

FlashImage wont scan for any boot.img you need to browse the sdcard for the rom you want to flash and choose it, then it will flash that boot.img

My next question is how do I update to the latest firmware I am on 2.08.651.2?
I searched around and found there is two methods either replace the stock recovery (from xda) or one of the go back methods.
I tried replacing the recovery but it was not working and I tried multiple times with different configurations because they named off 2 or 3 names to rename the file.

Once again thanks for the info above. cant wait to do it but I want to update first if that is indeed a good idea.

Ok I just did a full reset of my device it now has the latest update on it.
now my next question is what is the best rom.
This is what I would like is a rom with these features if one exist.
listed in order of preference.
4g and wifi
all bloatware gone
The ability to over clock
speed up memory stick

There are so many on xda I am confused on what one of the few I checked out only one stood out but not sure what it does and dont do is clean rom
any info would be great.
BTW I have the latest update and rooted on hboot 1.50

Now that you updated you are limited to a few roms built off the new base. the kernel with this base is stock, no OC with this one, but the way it runs it doesn't need OC'ed . Cleanrom will run on this base and you also have Meanrom ,Rebornrom, they are all basicaly they same
