Dual Core question
I've had my Evo 3d since first day of release. I have been reading about the Samsung S2, regarding how much faster it is compared to the evo 3d using the Quadrant cpu speed test. Samsung hovers over 3k while evo 3d hovers around 2k, these are non rooted phone speeds. I read somewhere that the duel core on the evo 3d is not fully being utilized and that there will be an update coming soon. Anyone hear anything on this?

Re: Dual Core question
From my understanding Android does not utilize dual core as of yet. I believe this will be remedied with Ice Cream Sandwich.

Re: Dual Core question
The gs2 is not that much faster. Yes it loads an application a few fractions of a second faster, not a big difference at all. If you look at the videos, they are pretty even, despite what the biased reviewers say...

Look at display type. Similar hardware testing on different resolutions yield different results. To each his/her own but for my money.....3vo ftw. Is say they're pretty comprable. Each has their own pros and cons. I can speak to HTC's mod community and history. Both stories tend to put HTC > Samsung in mobiles

Re: Dual Core question
Huh?
Any hardware (computer or smartphone) that's literally rendering 25% less pixels will almost always do better, that's just the way computers work
You're getting another third of a screen on the 3vo compared to 800x480, of course it will do better on performance checks, and any phone running at 300x200 would score even better than that, even if the hardware is worse

Re: Dual Core question
Samsung beats the 3-D on paper. We cannot really say how great it is because we don't even have the device in the US yet. And honestly I think both phones are great devices, it really depends on your personal choice unless your really picky about a nanosecond of the device being faster then the other...
I am a Samsung fan and I have the Evo 3D, I wouldn't change the device, If I really like the GSII I would buy it full price but otherwise im not complaining about my phone right now
