Downloaded Yahoo Mail Application and getting error

I downloaded yahoo maill app and Im getting general login error failed to add account and im putting the correct user name n password and it worked before... I had the yahoo app and deleted and reinstalled whats going on

Are you absolutely sure you have control over the account?
I had an issue like this once and yahoo locked me out of my own account untill i verified some security questions.
Log in using the computer and then try to do it from the app.
Also make sure you do have a valid data connection.

I am have the same issues with both the Yahoo mail and fantasy football apps. I definitely have control over the account because I'm logged in on my laptop. Additionally, I can log into Yahoo with the browser on mu phone. This is bad.

I am also getting the same error message on my new nexus s that I received 2 days ago... "general login error, unable to add account" some of the things I have tried include:

I can log in with my laptop, and on the mobile web browser
I can log into the app though with a different yahoo account but not the main one I use,
I can access the account from a different droid (my touch 3g) using the exact same app version and same yahoo account.
I have power cycled phone
cleared cookies
cleared cache
cleared history,
called the service provider
contacted yahoo mobile tech support via email
no special characters in password
tired adding @yahoo and leaving it off the account login
changed yahoo password
same issue with same yahoo account and same phone using yahoo messenger app

All attempts to log into my primary yahoo account via the yahoo mail app on my new phone have failed . I am out of ideas here and I'm hoping someone else has a brilliant idea they can offer :'(

whoo hoo I just figured it out...
go to yahoo.com via computer,
log into yahoo account
click on your name in the upper left hand corner
on drop down choose account info
varify password
under sign in and security choose manage apps and website connections
remove yahoo mail for andriod
attempt log in again via app

done that my friend in messenger it keeps saying the login failed after singing in and it happens when the app is loading my contacts

I gave up on the pre installed app and downloaded the latest yahoo mail app - it worked immediately
