Whats going on

I've had very few problems with me 3vo, however yesterday i was trying to take a pictureand my phone informed me that my memory card had unmounted. I've had the phone since a week after launch and not opened the case once. Should i be worried

No. You just may need to re-seat the card. If you don't wanna do it bring it into Sprint. They will do it for you.

Your memory card might have died. I had this happen with a brand new memory card after only a couple of days (Amazon replaced it with no hassle!).
