Is anyone else getting their SD cards fried?
I've had this phone for about 6 weeks. In that period of time I've had 2 16gb micro SD cards fry in the phone. One was a Patriot and one was a SanDisk, so it's not like I'm using the cheapest thing I can get my hands on.
I'm rooted, not overclocking or anything. (as a matter of fact, I underclock most of the time using the on demand feature in setcpu). Recovery is TWRP and the only rom I use is CleanRom.
When it fried today, I was using the "album art grabber" app to download some album images. The phone rebooted and the sd card was toast.
Anyone else finding excessive failure rates on their Evo 3D? Is there anything I can be doing to safeguard this from happening again and again?

Re: Is anyone else getting their SD cards fried?
I haven't had that problem, at least not yet. Still using the original card that it came with.

Re: Is anyone else getting their SD cards fried?
Yes. First week I had it actually. Annoying to say the least. Asked for a replacement handset and Sprint is giving me the run around saying the card was poor quality. I even pay $7/month for insurance. This is the one part of the phone that has me aggravated still and I consider myself rather technically savvy.

Re: Is anyone else getting their SD cards fried?
Was it the stock 8gb that came with your phone? I've bought a "SanDisk" 16gb from Amazon, that was fake & fried.

Re: Is anyone else getting their SD cards fried?
I know on reboot that the art grabber attempts to grab images from the card before the SD is mounted. But once the homescreen in stable, I can access my SD card just fine. It's a Patriot 32GB card. Are you sure your not mistaking the initial mount error as the card being "Fried"?

Re: Is anyone else getting their SD cards fried?
I haven't had it 'fry' per say but since applying the new update the phone seems to loose the sd card and thinks it has been unmounted. The only way to get it to recognize it again is to power down and power back up... doesn't happen often but when it does it always seems to be at the most inconvenient moment.

Re: Is anyone else getting their SD cards fried?
I've been using a 32gb Sandisk purchased from Amazon since lauch and it's been great. I haven't had any issues so far. Fingers crossed.

Mines still good. I have the one it came with. (8Gig) So far so good! no issues for me. I am thinking about upgraded the SD card soon though. Might go with a ScanDisk SD card. I hear they are good.

Re: Is anyone else getting their SD cards fried?
Looks like my 16 gb sandisk class 2 just became toast. There was one other time where the SD card unexpectedly dismounted (no jars to the phone or anything) and it came back ok on reboot. This time, I didn't have the same luck, and when I popped it into my computer, the card needed formatting.
