You may find this interesting. It is a discussion that contains videos from Sprint that talk about the new Vision rollout. A part of the technology is EVDO REV B. The EVO 3D is equipped for it. While it is the understanding that everyone will benefit to a certain degree, based on what I have read so far, we who have the EVDO REV B capability can benefit the most. Of course, keep in mind that everything is still speculation at this point but this link does shed some light on what is going on.

Here is another link that you may find informative. Like I said, it is all speculation right now but it appears that the iPhone's CDMA side supports EVDO REV A and EVDO REV B. Also, it appears that if they go to EVDO REV B, it will mean better indoor penetration for those of us with that capability.

The *announcement* is Oct 7. The rollout (LTE,RevB, whatever) will begin 1st quarter 2012 from what I've read. 6 more days!!

Yeah, Sprint has been pretty good to us here in Nashville too. I believe they've at least been doing some tower testing/configuration here because there have been times I've gotten upwards of 10mbps down on 4G with full 4G strength. Mind you, this isn't all the time, but I do have 4G in the house now where I didn't a few weeks ago.

They added one wimax tower here in Chattanooga. Hope there is more to come.

I live in hixson, drive to chatt and cleveland have NEVER had 4G connection. How far does it go ? 200 ft?

So has the EVDO.RevB been rolled out to certain places already? Or is it not till Oct 7th that they will start flipping switches? Or are they not even starting to put the hardware in place till after the 7th?

Is our phone supposed to be able to just hook up to it automatically when its available or will we need a software update to enable it? Looking forward to this, my signal at work is really week in my building but its totally fine outside, so i'm really hoping this happens soon!

I downloaded Netmonitor which is an app that will tell you what type of network you are on, among other things. I am on 3G at the moment because I'm at work and don't get 4G indoors and it says I'm still on EVDO REV A.

Still on Evdo RevA here too.. My signal strength hasn't changed in my building here, i guess that will be my first tip that something has changed.

Until after the whole PRL mess I didn't get 4G inside my house, although outside I could get a bar or two if I sat outside on the patio. They must be doing something around here because I always have 4G in the house. Also, yesterday at work I forgot to take a notepad to a meeting so I used my phone to take notes. I actually got a one bar 4G signal in the conference room. We get 4G outside at work too so after I had eaten lunch I sat outside and turned on the 4G and messed with my phone (imagine that

) and forgot to turn it off. When I got back to my office the 4G would turn off and on. I have never before yesterday been able to get any 4G signal inside my building.

As for the quoted "official statement," I don't know if he meant to say that EVDO REV B hasn't been activated on any Sprint devices or what, because we all know that the EVO 3D has the capability.

I guess we'll just have to see what happens but I have noticed better service here.
