Why do I feel this source is wrong? Unless google has been slipping the manufacturers ICS all this time, there's no way we'd see it next month. We'll be lucky to see it in 1h2012.

I'd rather get it later and it be completely stable than get it sooner and buggy.

I rather get it sooner and it be buggy because it always has bugs. The sooner we get it the sooner the bugs get exposed and the sooner it can get fixed.

Good point, and I know HTC has a good track record... I guess I still have the mindset of other developers that aren't so quick. (I'm looking at you, Samsung and LG)

(yes, I know with rooting custom roms would be better anyway. I just haven't rooted this phone yet)

Confirmed per HTC, we're getting it early 2012. So not next month, but in the next few.

While it might be fun to have it early, i don't really need it until games or apps out there start to be ics required (probably not for a long time)

heh, that's assuming you believe "early 2012" means January/February. I'll say March we'll see it =) Unless they decide NOT to put sense on it....

Yeah.. I'm not sure what the point is of getting excited to see how HTC mutes most of the ICS advantages with Sense.

Here's to hoping CM9 goes smoother for this than CM7 did.

Sprint announces Ice Cream Sandwich update for HTC devices
    By Tim Stiffler-Dean 07 Nov 2011 1:54 pm

    Sprint Ice Cream Sandwich Update

Word has arrived from Sprint regarding the future availability of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for their smartphones, with an announcement having been made today about their HTC line of devices. From the Sprint Community portal blog:

"Sprint will begin to rollout Google's latest version of Android, Ice Cream Sandwich, to our customers in early 2012. Ice Cream Sandwich will be available via an over-the-air update to a variety of devices including HTC EVO 3D, HTC EVO Design 4G and other key products in our line-up."

These HTC phones join the short list of other existing Android devices to receive the Ice Cream Sandwich OTA update. We'll be looking for the update to arrive early next year, but it definitely couldn't arrive soon enough.

I'm interested to see how ICS affects our devices. I would think Sense would render most of the visual enhancements useless. I'd love of they found an innovative way to combine it all...but I wont hold my breath to that.

Knowing HTC, sense will stick around. However, i'm sure there will be loads of people rocking pure ICS. Ah, root.
