I was just wondering why everyone wants ICS so bad? I'm on zr3d 3.0gt and I must say there is no way any ICS update or hacked Rom can possibly compare to this. I have everything working and my phone is faster than you could imagine. I'm running dodava's kernel at 1728mhz and I can't really see what benifits ICS could give me over what I'm using!

Re: Why does everyone want ICS so bad?
if everybody thought this way, they'd still be on froyo. or worse....on a bb or phone where you have to dial 7777 to type an "S"
I love MeanRom v3 and was planning on jumping to v4 this weekend, but now I'll be moving to Clean ICS!
it's the reason we all root ... we aren't happy with just stock and/or standing still with our devices. - 05-04-2012, 02:38 PM

Re: Why does everyone want ICS so bad?
I did, its slow and terrible next to Infected Eternity 3.0, 3.5 is even better, to bad it never had 4G.... which is the point Sense 3.5+ is accelerated by the GPU, Sense 3.0 has been taken as far as it can be and even 3.6 will be leaps and bounds better not to mention 4.0 just on hardware acceleration alone, not to mention whats devs will do with it... the Evo 3D is great and capable hardware and deserves better than Gingerbread and Sense 3.0
also ICS has better memory management and has hardware acceleration, better battery life, better task multitasking, and (i heard) it uses both cores properly since gingerbread wasn't designed for dual core cpus (ICS was)
ICS also has a large array of small features and details that make completely different. its like the difference between Windows 7 and Windows 98.
I tried ICS on the 3D weeks ago, and been running ICS on a HP Touchpad for months, its rock steady and a total overhaul top to bottom. hard to believe Gingerbread and ICS have anything to do with each other and its hard to compare them to tell u exactly which feature(s) u should be excited about.
just try it, sprint has the Nexus on display, the different is immediately noticeableLast edited by spaceosc; 05-04-2012 at 05:43 PM.

Yeah I'm on kushdecks ics and I must say its not even close to zr3d power. 1400 less on antutu, 1300 less on quadrant, and 45 mlflps less on linpack. Someone please explain.

I had a DX and was very skeptical of the ICS. Until I flashed Gummys Rom. "Eating poptarts and ting rainbows"
I played with this rom and was so strongly impressed with ICS that within a week I was ordering myself a GneX to get me some ICS! The upgrade and tweaks to the Android experience is for the better.

You are not making a fair comparison.
How long has zr3d power been in development? How much time and knowledge and work has gone into the base that this ROM is built off of? How many updates have been issued?
Then you run a ROM that has been out for less than 24 hours based off of a leaked RUU from a Virgin Mobile phone.
Why would you expect them to perform the same? Of course the ROM that has been in development since the 2.17 update is better. There is a reason almost every custom ROM for the last 6 months has been mimicking or trying to implement Sense 3.5/4.0 features along with ICS features and or code. Very few people on any phone have been asking how to get their phone back to Gingerbread because ICS scored lower on benchmarks.

After reading my post again it sounded kind of snarky. Sorry if it came across that way. I need to sleep. Being up for 24 hours is no fun.

Yeah I was using that one this morning! Really good rom, but I just love the customization with zr-icsense. I'm always debating between these two roms. The power and battery life of meanrom. Or the power and look of zr-icsense.
