Flashing Evo 3D HBOOT 1.5 to 1.4

HELP! I'm stuck!! I was trying to flash from hboot 1.5 to 1.4 so that I could unlock my phone and root it using revolutionary. I followed the steps from here and got almost all the way to the end. I bricked my phone like they said to do (not a good idea, now that im looking back on it...) so that the red light is glowing faintly. I got the ubuntu system all ready to accept the device but when i hold down the volume down button and plug it in via usb, nothing happens! i can wait and wait while holding the button and absolutely nothing happens. I was going to try and reset it but the phone is completely bricked and so I cant turn it on at all. No boot mode, no OS mode, no nothing. PLEASE HELP!!!!! THANK YOU!
