Amazon Appstore App Update issue

I don't know if this is an issue with the Amazon Appstore on the EVO 3D, or if it is an issue with the Amazon Appstore itself. For the 2nd time in the last 2 days I have had the Appstore tell me there is an update for an app. When I click on the update, it downloads but then requires the old app to uninstall before installing the new app. Today it was an update for Angry Birds, which caused me to lose all of the progress up to that point. Luckily I have been using another app that backups the Angry Birds data, but I don't know if I will be as lucky with other apps' data if I continue to have this problem. Has anyone else had this problem or know of a solution?
