ics not sure if i like
on my evo 3d since ive updated to ics im not sure if i like it or not.
i get alot of application hangs and a big pause when i send text messages.
before the update this didnt not occur at all battery life has been good ok though.
my evo 3d is not rooted the phone seems to be a bit slower than what it was originaly.
and i might be mistaking but i seen a youtube video of where we get new themes.
and wallpapers with the update but i didnt see any of this at all.
not sure if its supposed to come with it or what but i have not even seen any new things out.
should my phone be slow and have app hangs is this happening to others?
after i send a text message i see the timer come up and stays a good min or so sometimes. - 08-10-2012, 03:34 PM #2
Re: ics not sure if i like
Mine is overall a lot faster. But what I've noticed is that when playing 3D videos (movies), it's a bit slow, like when the camera moves, you can see little pauses. I don't know how to describe it. It's like watching a high res video on a low memory pc.

That's why I rooted! When I used the VM leak, my phone would lag quite a bit. But since sprint released there source and I updated, its been butter ever since. I'm using the viperS Rom and my phone is better than ever! Root your phones and you won't have stock issues.

Infectedrom.com! It's sense 4 and its a very sensitive Rom. One set up will work great, then another set will have reboots. No WiMAX due to it being a Rom from the EVO one, but its a feature packed Rom if you can deal with the reboot issues.

Re: ics not sure if i like
i did root my shift before and never had issues with it after that. but then my upgrade came with my plan and i got the 3d.
the phone has been very good and not given me any issues. but when i did the ice cream update ive noticed a few things.
so im giivng some thought on rooting this one i just dont want to mess it up ! to me the risk is always there - 09-17-2012, 04:40 PM #7
Re: ics not sure if i like
Does ics lag for you guys too? It's basically made the evo design unusable.

Re: ics not sure if i like
My phone isn't rooted and my ICS works fine. Bit of lag once in a blue moon but no complaints.

Oh also, my phone will go through a series of crashes once in a while but it hasn't happened in a month and a battery pull will fix it so I don't take too many points off ICS's quality for it.

Re: ics not sure if i like
That's why I just run a stock Rom on my rooted evo 3d. Don't care about beats audio, I still use a mp3 player and real beats headphones (not gonna put 500+ songs on my phone anyway). I flashed the new "leedroid tweaks" (can't live without extended quick settings and transparent notification bar and app drawer). so I don't need a rom for tweaks. Theming is cool but it affects performance and battery, at least imo and experience. I've looked at other roms but really could do without half the stuff some developers do to these roms. For example, I've not had a custom rom in my life that didn't force close when I opened Google search the first time. Never happened on this Rom. What I'm saying is I can vouch for the battery life on the Rom I'm using.

Re: ics not sure if i like
Ics on my phone is great. Everything is super fast and I rarely get force closes I love it. Now the question is will it get jelly bean. Cause a lot of people seem to think we will get it after the One series gets it but I don't know.
Running stock rom by the way
