It's not gorilla glass from Corning, but it is very similar.

I have an Evo 4G and never used a screen protector on mine either. So far I don't have a single scratch on the screen and I use my phone a lot. To me, all screen protectors do is make the screen feel and look funny, and, in the event of catastrophic screen failure secondary to the screen being hit by some sort of object, it will probably keep all the little pieces together.
Not sure what they will use on the Evo 3d, but if the screen is at least like my current one, I'd be happy. - 03-31-2011, 02:14 AM #4
HTC has never acknowledged if they use Gorilla Glass or not.

Well there is some good news here for HTC owners. Given the amount of products they have put GG on, it's likely they will continue to do so, so you should expect a similar experience on phones in the near future. That's great if your screen has done well by you like my Evo has done for me, and that's one more check on the the Evo 3D

No need for a screen protector on an EVO. We can only assume that the EVO 3D is just as good.

Re: Gorilla Glass for Evo 3D?
yup same here. I never really use screen protector, after I had the original droid, I learned a lesson. Never ever put anything else in the same pocket as your phone. You can have gorilla glass times 4 and it will still scratch if you throw keys or other things in with the phone. I keep my phone separate and never get a scratch.

Re: Gorilla Glass for Evo 3D?
The strange thing about it is that nothing else was in that pocket. I always carry my phone in my back left pocket and never put anything else in it. The only conclusion I can form is that the button on the back of my slacks got it, but it's a rounded button. I don't know. It's small enough not to be a huge deal, but I'm definitely gonna have to be uber-careful.
