New Google Music App causing Last.fm to hang?

The new Google Music app is causing my Last.fm scrobbler to hang. The result is the last.fm scrobbler never exits, and stays in my top notification area as if the song were still playing (even after I close the Google Music app). Making matters worse, it also starts performing multiple scrobbles on a song when I listen to the song only once. I have to force quit Last.fm to get it to stop. This doesn't happen when I use my other Music apps (like Winamp).

I wasn't able to find this issue with a search, and I am not sure if I am posting this in the correct forum. This is happening on an Evo 4G. I am using the official Google Music and Last.fm apps, and I'm fully updated.

The same thing is happening on my Xoom.

This is happening to me, too, on my DroidX. It's super annoying. I was sooo excited to get Google Music, and now I don't want to use it because I'm getting songs showing up 10 times in a row on LastFM when I listen to them once.

I'm one of those sorry souls waiting. The funny thing is I realized that I posted it in the wrong forum after submission, and was unable to forward/migrate it to the correct forum...so I reposted it the next day in the correct forum, and I get a response here, but it's crickets over there (where it should be posted).
