Alright I got my EVO 3r from radioshack this morning and I am completely floored with this device!!!!!! Coming from a pre- this phone is so much better, it can do so much more than my old phone could do without a single lag or hiccup to be seen. The multitasking isn't as good but it works just the same, and there are actually apps that I want to multitasking with.

The 3d is a gimmick sure but its fun to play with. Getting the viewing angle wrong will induce headaches and nausea (at least with me) but once you find the correct angle its easy to get it again. Everone i showed the 3d to were amazed at how it looked.

I would recommend a case because of the protruding camera lens, but apart from that this phone is simply amazing and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a new high powered futureproof android device!

I'm finally home and can spend the rest of the evening playing with my new toy. After weeks of my wife teasing me about my excitement for this phone, she ended up being the crazed customer geeking over the phone at the Sprint store. The reps had so much fun showing off the phone to her. She is sitting beside me now still going off about how much she loves everything about the phone. We went to dinner at Smokey Bones and she was showing everyone the 3D features. I think Android and HTC has converted a die hard Blackberry fangirl...Thank You!

Thanks for the tip. I went to BB and pick up two and had them put it on. I must say that it doesn't negatively affect the screen. Protects it and so far no smudges. I have to register it online still. If you want the extra protection, then trust ZAGG.

Great, wonderful, awesomely fast and smooth. Definitely a worthy successor to the original Evo. No complaints. It looks good and performs well. Everything is working as it should. No signal strength or reception problems. Call quality seems good to me. Switching it over @ best buy was a breeze and Sprint seemed to be on the ball this year, there was no crashing of their system like launch day last year.

3D content takes a lil adjusting to when u first see it, but it looks good. No headaches or eye strain for me. Green hornet loaded up and played seamlessly. All my coworkers were impressed with how good 3D content looked, especially how crisp the movie was. Love sense 3.0 too. I think Sprint and HTC have another winner on their hands.

Watching green Hornet using my s10 Motorola bluetooth stereo headphones and discovered that the sound on the movie player has enhancements,,, you can put it on HTC 5.1 surround sound. This not only looks amazing, but sounds even more amazing.

Day 3 with the 3D and I still can't put it down. Simply an amazing phone. Haven't done a whole lot with the 3D part yet, but what I have done is fantastic. I have to say after reading comments here and some other sites, the overwhelming majority love this phone. After the reviews I expected to see more negative thoughts. Boy was I wrong. Anyone that let the reviews change their mind, are losing out. I wouldn't trade this for anything. I now highly doubt I will be getting the Samsung Within. Never had much luck with Samsung anyway.

haven't watched Green Hornet, it keeps asking me for updates which I'm doing. Not sure what the issue may be.

Hey guys, its my first post and I figured I owed back to the community. I spent the last month pouring over the threads and picked up so much information that I bought the phone.

I traded in HTC Hero at Radio Shack. They gave me $50 for it because it was kept in great shape and I had original box, manuals, charger, etc.

    Screen:
When I got the Evo 3D finally in my hands I simply couldn't believe the screen. If you are going from a Hero to Evo 3D you will be blown away. I can't really describe it but it looks almost fake. Unbelievable. I also don't notice any problems with viewing angles, at least not what some reported. I bought an InvisiShield screen protector and its perfect, flawless. The Radio Shack guy put it on and did a perfect job. As you can tell I am very pleased.

    Hardware/Processor:
The thing screams. The first few swipes and clicks I actually said out loud, "This thing is like butter." Everything you do is so smooth, no hiccups. Only weird thing that happened was when watching Green Hornet I must have hit something because the movie stopped and a text-to-speech box popped up (something like that). I hit cancel and it took a few seconds to get back to the movie. I hit play and was on my way again. But the movie played perfectly and skipping around the scenes was flawless and smooth.

    Camera:
It's pretty good. I took a picture in my dimly lit living room in 3D and it turned out with a green tint. The flash went off, not sure what was up with that. But photos and videos are very good, miles ahead of the HTC Hero. The 3D is a little gimmicky, but I think it will be a fun thing as more content comes out. It's here to stay I think. I couldn't figure out the 3D until I put the screen about a foot away from my face and it came into focus. Wow! You just have to get the distance right, at least for me.

    Sense:
Its way cool. Much better especially with the new Gingerbread. Although, I never understood why the weather app doesn't have tomorrow's or the week's weather. Its only at that time. I also love the built-in apps killer.

    Phone calling/quality:
So far the signal I have is slightly better than the Hero. Just a tad, maybe a bar at the most. People can hear me fine and I can hear them. It works fine. One thing I REALLY like is if I call someone and voicemail comes on. The system says "... or press 1 to leave a message." At this point I used to have to wake the screen, hit the keypad button, then hit #1 on my old Hero. Now all I do is move the phone away from my face and it wakes the phone up automatically with the keypad displayed! I think it uses the gyro thingee inside to tell if the user has the phone to the head or not. Really cool, I found myself using it alot... even if you are talking and want to know the time, just move it away from your head and the screen pops on. Little things like that just make it overall awesome.

    Internet:
Its so freaking smooth. Have had no problems, even with embedded youtube videos in posts. Way better than my old Hero. That thing would freak out and restart if I try to do too much. I was on 3G and haven't tried 4G yet cause its not available at my house yet.

The case and construction is also cool. Easy to take off the back plate. I like the slight grip on the back. I haven't bought a case because the damn thing is big enough already. Besides, I keep my phones in good condition anyways (or at least I try).

I did all kinds of things like play spiderman, watch portions of green hornet movie, took a few videos and pictures, setup all my accounts, used google maps while driving, browsed the internet, and made a few calls for a total of roughly 5-6 hours and I had about 25% left. I was on wifi a little bit too. This thing should last a full day with normal use, maybe longer. The instructions say to turn off wifi and stuff like that when not using it to save battery.

Overall this thing is 10 out of 10. In one day I can't really find anything I don't like, or at least worth mentioning.

I'll check this thread if anyone has questions, especially those of you coming from the old Hero.

Brilliant! Got it this morning at Radioshack for $75. They have an offer going on where existing sprint customers can also get the phone for upgrade pricing at $199 and if you have an evo, you can trade it in for anywhere between $100 - $150 based on the condition of the old phone. WOOT!!!

Snappy is putting it lightly, the dual core on this bad boy ROCKS. 2184 --> Quadrant score. Everything has been sublime so far.

I didn't have time to read all the comments but here's my 1st impressions of the 3D. I've been playing with it since 10 a.m. this morning. Please don't compare my likes/dislike to the person who came from the Hero. I had that phone too so their review of the Hero/3D would be astounding. Mine is EVO 4G/3D

It may be a bit faster than the EVO 4G, but to me, it almost feels like a downgrade.
The feel of the phone feels cheap compared to the EVO 4G.
Pictures ALL have some sort of green hue to them; doesn't matter if the pics were taking in/outdoors flash/no flash.........they all come out dark and gloomy. Sorry, but my EVO 4G takes outstanding pics.
3D pics looked disastrous and I took a bunch of them!
The battery cover took me way to long to figure out how to get it off. Guess I'm more used to the door on the EVO 4G. No joke....I honestly went online to see if I could find a video of someone actually taking it off. The struggle was so intense, you do so with a fear you'll break the thing.

The more I use it, the more I don't see a reason to keep it. The EVO 4G was/is a great phone.

I came from the 4g to this phone and it IS a UPGRADE! This phone is smokin fast and everything about it makes me glad I got it! I love this phone! The people that think it is only marginally better or worse have issues! You are either being paid for your negative reviews or dont know what you are talking about

This phone is straight up titties! Everything is awesome. Even the 3d is way better than any of the reviews. Took several 3d pics and everyone I showed them to were in awe. Dedicated camera button is also way better than I thought it would be, brilliant even. Sense 3.0 is amazing. Superfast. I can install ALL the apps I want. I was very hesitant to go from the Evo 4g to this, but there are absolutely no regrets. All I need now is that kickstand case and my life is complete..

Ok, so I have used this phone for 24 hours. To me coming from the EVO 4G I have to say I love every single thing about the EVO 3D. Yeah this or that could be better or different but overall this phone is gonna be a blast for the next year. 3D? Yeah it's cool. Won't use it much but that is not why I bought it. I bought it for the specs and love it. I am a happy camper here. Sense 3.0 is awesome!

I'm less than impressed with the battery life. Full charge this morning, I've watched one 3d video for 3 minutes, sent 4 texts and played with some UI stuff for about 20 minutes...already down to 86% according to the curvefish battery life app. I don't have much running in the background, use taskkiller to kill everything. Overall I like the phone but the battery life was supposed to be a lot better and so far, for me, it's not.
