Best Buy stores are on a tight allocation of 60 EVO 3D's unless they had pre-orders above that.There are just over 1100 Best Buy Stores in the US and the average store took just over 40 pre-orders.

Each Sprint dealers store was allocated just enough to fill Pre-orders which averaged 31 per store. Sprint Corporate stores received more. There are just over 20,000 Sprint stores.

RadioShacks are on a tight allocation of 15 per store unless they had pre-orders over that. There are 4400 US stores and pre-orders average 12 per store.

How many usints is that just in these three channels?

Best Buy = 60 x 1100 = 66,000 (44,000 pre-orders)

Sprint = 31 x 20,000 = 620,000 (all 620,000 pre-orders)

RadioShack = 15 x 4400 = 66,000 (52,800 pre-orders)
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Totals

We have no idea how many were pre-ordered through bestbuy.com, sprint.com, or radioshack.com. The rumor was that sprint.com alone took over 100,000 EVO 3D pre-orders.

How many EVO 3D's were pre-ordered?

There were at least 816,000 EVO 3D pre-orders and probably over 1,000,000.

There are now 10,000 posts in the Android Central HTC EVO 3D forum, almost all in the past week.

Hmmm..... That'd be great for Sprint, but I dont think they got 800,000 pre-orders alone...

I will assume that they are going to sell over a million this first week, pre-orders and regular sales combined.

these numbers surprise me seeming I hit a few stores today and none seemed to be selling 3D's at all let alone lines waiting for them.
Most other people on here reported the same thing.

Sprint, Best Buy, and Radio Shack worked hard to set appoints throughout the day so eliminate long waiting periods.

No line at Target and they had a dummy model on display (and had them in stock) for $199. No line at Sam's Club either ($175) and no model on display. The Sam's club guy said they got about dozen in stock and had sold half by the afternoon. This was in Atlanta.

I had preordered from the an indirect Sprint store here in KC, and they called yesterday to say they were opening at 8 instead of 9 for the launch. I ended up getting there at about 8:30, and there were no lines, but I got the last free associate, and everyone was getting 3ds. There never really was a line, but I'd say I saw a total of about 15 other customers getting 3Ds while I was there.

Just because there were no lines doesnt mean a lot didnt sell. Realize how many places were actually selling the Evo 3D.

Sprint
Amazon
Target
Wal-Mart
Sam's Club
Best Buy
WireFly
RadioShack

That's a lot of places where somebody could have possibly gotten the Evo 3D. Imagine if ONLY Sprint was selling them? Or even just Sprint and Best Buy. The outcome would have been a tad different, I think.

Anyone who pre-ordered and got a phone call earlier in the week was getting a phone. Didn't need to rush to the store at that point.

I spoke with employees at the BB I got mine from, as well as the local Sprint store where I got my case, and BB had 50 phones and 15 pre-orders, Sprint had 100 phones and 20 pre-orders. Both were half out by noon.

Couldn't have said it better. Todays outcome was exactly like last years and if I'm not mistaken the OG EVO broke Sprint sales records.

I have to agree with the rest here. I was at Best Buy and Radio Shack this morning and the lines were not great. That could be due to the fact that this year was way more organized and more people pre-ordered than did so last year. I did not pre-order last year, like many others in line with me. But, I did do so this year. With Best Buy and Sprint setting up appointments, it could be that the lines did not exist simply because there were more pre-orders this year, and more appointments being made for customers to pick them up, making for a more organized, streamlined process.

But that 800,000 figure does seem inflated. What is your source.

My bestbuy had 150 in stock this morning. I didn't ask how many were already preordered...

I arrived at 8:15 and there were like 6 people there already I had to swung by another bestbuy later in the afternoon around 1 and there were over 15 people in line waiting for them in the mobile dept.

Out best buy had 15 in stock and only 5 preorders and our radio shack only had 5 with one preorder. I was shocked to find one in stock.
