Re: 3D Movie Format, and where to download?
I think .mp4 will work but the movie will have to converted to mp4. I just will like to know of a web site that i can get them from.

Re: 3D Movie Format, and where to download?
Id like to know as well. Im surprised they chose a poor choice of movie such as green hornet. This movie is fake 3d(post production 3d filter). They should have chosen a movie like Avatar, or a animated movie to show off 3d on this phone

Supported movie playback formats?
So.. I can just take my SD card, put any movies on it and I can watch it on Evo 3D?
It will play .mkv too? What's the full list?
Also, Green hornet is 1.7gb which plays smoothly. Do you think the phone can handle 6-8gb 1080p movies (like Planet Earth compressed copy I have).
I'd be VERY surprised.. some of my older desktops can't play those smooth. - 06-24-2011, 11:07 PM #9

Re: 3D Movie Format, and where to download?
That article state the E3D doesnt like any videos over 2gb. Also isnt the max resolution 720p? Why put a 1080p movie on it and waste uncesseary space when it cant even reach the mark?

Re: 3D Movie Format, and where to download?

Re: Does the EVO 3D Play any video format besides H.264?
Download vplayer from the market. There's a trial, and it costs about 5 dollars. I played a 720p h264 mkv file with subtitles almost flawlessly.

Re: 3D Movie Format, and where to download?
Trial and Error....
I can tell you that h.264 video at 720p, AVC level 4.1 with 5 ref. frames plays fine. This did not work on the 4G.
AC3 audio is still unsupported. Likely like the 4G, only AAC audio....bummer that it does not support the full mp4 format spec. This means that connection of the 3D via HDMI will not have DD 5.1 surround sound either.
HTC needs to publish a spec advising the encoding limits. Perhaps an aftermarket player could be added to support things the built in one does not. It would have to use the built in hardware decoder to work though and none of the the current market apps do this. That is why rockplayer does not work in hd on the 4G. Might on the 3D with its better processor. Will give it a try. - 06-25-2011, 08:42 AM #21

Where to get more 3d movies?
So surprisingly, I'm really impressed with the 3d part of the EVO 3d. My only problem is, where can I find more 3d movies besides the green hornet? I thought that the blockbuster on demand app would have some, but searching for 3d brings up movies that don't explicitly say they are in 3d and I don't want to spend the money to find out if they are or not. So besides YouTube and like 4 games from gameloft, where the heck is the 3d content?

Re: Where to get more 3d movies?
just guessing, but I don't think there is a whole lot of 3D content now because there aren't really a lot of mobile devices with 3D technology. There should be more in time.

Re: Where to get more 3d movies?
3D is still in its infancy. There isn't a whole lot of content, especially for mobile devices. It'll get better though. Can the Evo 3D play 3D from Blu-ray over the MHL?
