    Default Sprint False advertisment

So I am becomming a little annoyed with sprint, they are false advertising the evo 3D.

    First-1080p video recording

Second-I originally deleted the bloatware on my evo, but i was looking in the market section a few days ago and i saw the blockbuster app in the sprint section...i looked in the description and i saw $25 in free blockbuster bucks, so i download it thinking i will get a free movie and some rentals...all i have is $5 bucks where is the other $20 at sprint???

third-Yesterday i was flipping through the channels on my tv and i see the evo 3d commercial and i stop and watch...lo and behold at the end they show the evo 3d and it shows the homescreen in full 3d...if i was a civilian (non techie) i would have probably went with the nexus s 4g because i would hate the 3d so that is probably detracting people from the evo...or if you like all of this 3d nonsense and saw this commercial and expecting a full 3d phone then you would be pissed off too.

sorry for the rant but i thought i would throw this out

I agree about the blockbuster application, but that is not Sprint's doing.

I was a lil down hearing about the video recording abilities, but the pros still outweighed the cons.

thats true but its just getting annoying because if you look in the comments on the vid people are posting about the sense being in 3d and how they are saying no because it is all in 3d or how they are disapointed it isnt all in 3d

You just sound a little bitter to me trying to pick apart something that is all subjective ... 1st of all it is NOT definitive whether or not the E3D is CAPABLE of shooting in 1080p ... Secondly the The blockbuster deal may be a typo and ultimately is on Block Buster NOT Sprint ... And I really don't get your argument on the commercial ... You seem conflicted with yourself ... Sprint may have been showing a 3D movie of the home screen and that WOULD be popping out like that ... I;m just trying to understand.
Hit the THANKS in appreciation if I or anyone else has helped you in any way .. A Strong Android Community

The blockbuster deal is only when you sign up for more. You always have to read the fine print.

HTC says the chipset can do 1080p. Why the evo 3d cannot, I do not know. Maybe it will be like wireless n on the 1st evo. There but not used untill after an update. Then another update takes it away.

I'm one of those folks who could care less about 1080p 780 whatever. For me the still cam and vid cam on a cell phone/device is a convenience. I really don't enjoy a movie any less If it's not HD. In most cell phones I have had I rarely turn the cam on. The 3D on the new EVO is a fun thing I'm not trying to make Avatar 2 on it.

    1. I agree, they advertised for too long to just call it a mistake. It’s been covered in several posts already.
    2. They got you with the fine print.
    3. This is an advertising loop whole. In advertising you’re not allowed to say or write things that are untrue. You can’t advertise that Redbull cures cancer. However you are allowed to say or write things if “a reasonable person would believe them to be untrue”. Hence we have the famous “Redbull gives you wings”. No one actually would believe this to be true.

To get to the point Sprint can’t say or write that the home screen or UI is in 3D. If you watch they don’t say or write that the UI is in 3D. They could show an image of it literally coming out of the screen.

    Got to love advertising.

Sprint retracted the 1080p recording in 3d statement and says only 720p capable.

Where has Sprint said it can do something that it really can't? BTW, even on a 50" screen, viewed at the proper distance, the human eye can't detect a difference in 1080p and 720p if all else is the same.

As said, did you read the actual Blockbuster promotion?

I can't imagine how disappointed you are in the entire world if you watch commercials, especially for consumer products and believe they are literal. I hope you never eat at any restaurant that advertises using pictures of their food in a studio. You'd drive yourself mad.

sorry for the rant but i thought i would throw this out
I'm glad you too see that this needed to be thrown out.

As a rule of thumb (and the intelligent thing to do), you should always read the fine print before you make a purchase. You know, that way you don't get called out for being wrong on all accounts when you blast someone on a public forum.
