LOTR Extend Edition Blu Ray digital copy on the Evo 3d?
So I just bought the Blu Ray version of the Extended Edition Lord of the Rings. Since I now have space to burn on this phone, thanks to the 32 gb card I have in it, I was wondering how difficult it would be to get those movies transferred over to the phone. I have read where it's a pain to do for Android devices since they are not officially supported and I don't know too much about this whole conversion and format business, so I am just wondering if anyone else has this particular movie and if you had any success getting it to run on the Evo 3d.

Did it come with a digital copy? If so, you could try pusing it to itunes and go from there

How do you move it from itunes to the Evo?

I used isyncr to move playlists over from there. It moved music videos too. You could also pop in your sd card and copy the movie file over. Some of the movies do not havr dmr on them so they could be played on other devices. Worse case, download the digital copy to a windows media olayer type of program and try the sd card thing again.

well unless the movie is copy protected threw itunes then you are pretty much screwed. As far as I know itune shows and movies will only work on itunes authorized accounts. If the movie has DRM if you download threw itunes. it wont work.

Thats why you can download it to windows media player type program. Most of the digital download copies i got have instructions for those as well.

Re: LOTR Extend Edition Blu Ray digital copy on the Evo 3d?
It came with codes on a piece of paper. I haven't popped the disk in yet due to time constraints, I just wanted to know if someone had done this already with these particular movies so I won't have to bother trying to figure it out, yes, I know....I am lazy.

Re: LOTR Extend Edition Blu Ray digital copy on the Evo 3d?
Neither the iTunes or Windows Media Player version worked when I tried them. They both have DRM protection. According to the FAQ's with the conversion program DVD Catalyst 4, there is really no way to defeat this DRM to view these on an Android phone.

For some reason, handbrake never works for me. Might have to try it again.

I have lots of dvd's that rip and watch on my EVO. I bought a program called 123Movies2Mobiles. You pick the format you need it ripped to - ipad/iphone, blackberry, etc. Then you just copy the ripped file to your phone sd card, and watch it on your phone

Re: LOTR Extend Edition Blu Ray digital copy on the Evo 3d?
The issue isn't ripping it to watch on the phone. The issue is that the digital copy that is already formatted to watch on an iPhone/iPad/iPod or a WP7 device has DRM that prevents it from being played on an Android device that is not able to be authorized to play the movie.

Re: LOTR Extend Edition Blu Ray digital copy on the Evo 3d?
I remember reading there is software that removes DRM so you can watch it. I would imagine that it wouldn't be illegal since you bought it and you're using it for personal use (just on a different device) I could be wrong though
