    Default Speaker Quality

Now we all know that Sprints latest two phones have horrible external speaker quality.. GS2 and more so the Evo 3d.

My question is does the new EVO have much better external speaker quality this time?

I hope so. The OG EVO had a crappy speaker, too. I know HTC can do better because they have in the past (WinMo phones, especially the TouchPro 2). I have to think that with the Beats inside they would have to consider the speaker during the development of everything now. It would be ironic and embarrassing if they didn't.

Beats only affects sound sent over the headphone socket. It is bypassed for the speaker.

That being said, I also hope the speaker is loud and clear, since the rest of the phone has some nice audio improvements.

I know, but it would be horribly ironic that the company that bought Beats can't get a decent speaker on their devices.

I forgot which hands-on I read it on, but the author said that the speakers on the HTC Evo 4G LTE was slightly better than the HTC One X. I'm not sure if that's good or bad because I don't really know how good the speakers are in the HTC One X.

I totally agree. It would be ironic and somewhat embarrassing.

The reason I asked is because the true HTC one has a pretty big speaker grill on the back as opposed to Sprints version it doesn't seem to have one at all..I hope its not that little spec that shows on the picture. Wish all manufactures would take a que from Motorola on this.

Hopefully the speaker is better than the Samsung GS2. Would be even better if it had a decent speaker phone.

Actually on the Evo 4G LTE Beats Audio will affect the music played through any blue tooth, speakers, headphones, you name it they really made this a badass phone.

Yeah, it will do so for all of those but not the built-in speaker from the phone itself.

If it helps, the Rezound, which might be the closest relative to the EVO 4G LTE, has a very good speakerphone. And its speaker is not very big at all.

I dont think the external speaker on the Epic Touch is nearly as bad as the EVO 4G or 3D.

It must be HORRID!! I've asked Phil twice in his "ask me any questions" thread and he has purposely chosen not to answer it.

I know he is extremely busy, but he answered questions immediately preceding and following my question. This leads me to believe he doesn't want to answer it.

Don't go jumping to conclusions. He may have just not seen it. I'm pretty sure if he wanted to share with us something we should keep in mind before purchasing this phone, he would've already said something about the speaker.

The Evo 4g was pretty good and I must admit the Evo3d has the worse speaker in a smartphone of all times.

Not true. Phil tweeted the other day that he hates Mikey47. I thought it was a little rough, but apparently the constant badgering about the speaker has left him angry.

Dang it, I thought that was a typo and he meant Mikey48. Color me sad.

The horrible loud speaker quality is the reason I returned my Evo 3D and waited for the GS2... I hate my GS2 and cant wait for the new LTE Evo but I really hope they fixed the loud speaker.

So you hated the audio on the EVO 3D and got a GS2, and now you hate the audio on the GS2 and want an EVO LTE.
Wait, i can see into the future,
I hate the audio on my EVO LTE and want a GS3.

I'm hoping for Motorola Photon video recording sound quality and external speaker output!

I never said I didn't like the speaker quality of the samsung galaxy s 2. it probably has the best speaker I've had in the phone ever but the gps is terrible and I'm sick of it. on top of that I miss all the great widgets you get with an htc sense phone. so unless they announce the galaxy s 3 with gps that actually works and htc sense I won't be getting it.

Worse than the NS4G? That speaker is redonkulous. I hated not being able to S,S,&S and not listen to my morning music. I ended up buying the Jambox sprint offers (worth its weight in gold).

    H!

Gonna wait to weigh in on speakers until we get to use it in an environment other than a launch event. It's a little noisy in there.

(Sorry for the delayed response. Also: I hate Mikey47. trololol)
