I believe that Best Buy will give the Gift Card after the purchase of sale. So, you would have to spend that money on something else like an accessory.

I know the One X is slightly diff than the E4GLTE but i got a chance to play with one this past weekend and DAMN its a sweet phone. If the Evo is as good or better than it were gonna have one sweet a@# phone. Camera is tops and everything is soo smoothe and from what i can tell excellent build quality. Not a big fan of the beats setting tthough, who would of thunk lol. This and the SG3 are gonna be my tatgets for this summer mos def.

I just spoke with the Sprint Project Manager at my job, and she says that the release will be May 18th.

Update: Was also just told that all Sprint Store Signage (which my company prints for them) will be shipped to Sprint Stores on May 14th for a release of May 18th.

I asked this question earlier in this thread, but being it is now almost May 2nd and still no announced date ... Could Sprint really start accepting pre-orders on May 7th WITHOUT announcing a release date?

And if so, would you still pre-order?

That happens all the time in the video game world. Hell to make it into the Guild Wars 2 beta weekends you had to pay in full up front for a game with no release date.

I heard May 12th from a store manager today

Actually saw the EVOLTE today, as I bumped into the HTC Rep at the Sprint store. It was quite simply the most gorgeous screen I've ever seen on a device, and the shiny plastic on the back wasn't that bad. As others have said, there are three antennas in the rear cover, no LTE sim card, and it was hardware revision 002, and the Rep said it wasn't the final device. He specifically pointed out the kickstand wasn't final, and true to his word, it wasn't very strong or spring loaded. He specifically wouldn't let me take pictures, as it was engraved on the front with an "E******" for engineering serial number and said he'd get in trouble. The guy was really cool, so I respected his request. He let me spend quite a bit of time with it, and yes, it flies...

Anyway, the reason I brought it all up, he smiled very broadly with a "can't confirm" when I mentioned the 18th, as if to confirm it. It was clear what he meant. He also mentioned that there would be a separate, premium Beats-enabled display in the Sprint Store, for the EVOLTE, to better show it and the audio capabilities of the device.

Gonna be a huge seller. I can barely wait till they light up LTE here in So. Cal.

correction for above, I counted four antenna connections on the body of the phone, but only saw three antennas in the plastic of the cover. I found that interesting.

Yeah the 18th is looking good, a friend of mine has a relative working for sprint and the person said if he wanted a nexus they could order it now or the EVO around the 15th.

Just to put it in perspective, the original evo pre order was around May 13 with a release date of June 04. http://www.androidcentral.com/pre-or...o-now-best-buy

Which would make 22 days for the evo pre order to release date and 11 days for the evolte if we go with the 051812 release date. But I don't think the carriers think about the number of days between the two. This is just to show how long the wait was.

Oh my, I hope I am not reading too much into this, but I just was on a chat with a sprint rep (regarding another matter) and asked about the release date for the EVO 4G LTE. I didn't expect to get a real date answer, but the answer I got scares the heck out of me, here is what he said:

Mitchell C.: We'll update the information and give you the exact date online but its not possible to give it right now due to business policies. I hope you understand.
Mitchell C.: I would like to be able to give you a date, but right now, the only information that we've got is that it'll be launched mid 2012.
There is only one bright spot to this that really makes me wonder if this guy even has a clue. He went on to say this:

    Mitchell C.: Please wait.
Mitchell C.: HTC EVO 4G will be available exclusively from Sprint on June 4, 2010 in all Sprint retail channels, including Telesales, Sprint.com and national retail partners, RadioShack, Best Buy and Wal-Mart.
Mitchell C.: EVO is priced at $199.99 with a two-year service agreement and after a $100 mail-in rebate (taxes excluded) with a new line activation or eligible upgrade.
Mitchell C.: Pre-registration is available now at .
Mitchell C.: I hope that answers our query, Mike.
You: What?!? Did you read what you copied me on?
You: That was the EVO 4G, not the EVO 4G LTE -- the year of that announcement is 2010!!!!
Mitchell C.: I'm so sorry, Mike.
Mitchell C.: I sincerely apologize for the mistake.

It should be required that whenever a cell phone rep is hired, they are required to have an account on AC or any of the other Android Forums. I can't stand these "by the book" answer customer service reps who try to B.S. the customers.

Hate to burst the bubble, but the E4GLTE will not launch on the 18th. I would put my money on June 8 or 15.

Your friend, or their relative is wrong. The GN is not available for employee lines until at least the 17th. No word has come down about the E4GLTE.

OOOOOOO like that means anything unless you are HIGH up or directly involved with the release.
