So, how does Wirefly work? I've looked at it (and several alternatives like it), but have always chickened out. It seems too risky -- I don't want to mess with my existing plan. Even when I choose "upgrade" and "primary line", it still wants me to choose a plan. I don't get it... and this is why I always chicken out and go to Best Buy or buy directly from Sprint.

May 18th? Snap! I figured I we wouldn't be seeing this phone until June. I don't know if I can wait until June (presumably) for the GSIII.

Preorder in!! I have never used wirefly either, but after reading up a little bit, they seemed to be on the up and up. Also, not that I need it, but they don't have any terms in their purchase agreement about keeping the phone on the same line for 180 days like amazon does... and they do 30 day price match.

    Very Excite!!

So I'm curious, the Sprint store opened this morning with the ability to preorder the evo4glte at $199, why would anyone do that instead of Wirefly ($149)? Am I missing something?

I think it is simply the uncertainty some people feel when buying from a 3rd party like that... also, there is a good chance that Sprint will ship before wirefly and that is worth $50 bucks to some.

it is 100% for sure a May 18th release indirectly verified by Sprint. When preordering from their site it shows that the preorder expires May 17th

Also got confirmation after preordering with Best Buy, available 18th or earlier. May be old news, but oh well.

Good catch at the bottom of the preorder page! Didn't see that as I was flying through the order process. Hopefully it's true because after selling my original EVO a month back I've been using a Palm Pixi. That higher selling price is totally worth it tho!

When I purchased a phone through a 3rd party and something with the phone went wrong, I always seemed to get the run-around from Sprint. This was because I didn't purchase it from Sprint. This was a while ago though so it could have changed.

Since however I have purchased phones directly from Sprint and have never had any problems. Hence why I just preordered with Sprint directly.

    $50 cheaper is a deal though.....dang.

Really? I have not had the same experience. I even bought a used phone on craigslist and when it started to have problems, I took it to my sprint store and they replaced it under warranty (based on the original owners purchase date) with no problem. apparently YMMV

Yep, saw this as well. Also found this:

If you look at the shipping terms is says it will begin shipping the 15th, and to allow 2-3 days for process/delivery.

I preordered through Sprint and the rep said I might get it by the 10th. Not guaranteed though.

My wife and I bought our Palm Pres through Wirefly in September, 2009, and got a better deal than Sprint was offering at the time. We have never had any problems with them and no problems having the phones serviced through Sprint. My wife must have had her Pre replaced at least 6-7 times during her two years with no trouble. She moved on to the iPhone 4s at the end of her contract. I've been waiting. And waiting. Was set to get the Nexus, but after the time gap after the time of release, the EVO 4G LTE caught my eye and I am about to contact Wirefly and put in my pre-order.

i thought we established her on the EVO LTE forum that wirefly wasn't as friendly as far as upgrading a different line then switching it? anyone else remmeber where that was? amazon had a similar policy IIRC. best buy was the only one mentioned that let you basically do whatever.

FWIW, I bought my OG evo using a family members upgrade, swapped it to my line and then let the family member use my upgrade a month or two later when i was eligible.

Can anyone else shed some more light on this? I just pre-ordered on Wirefly on my wife's line, but I will be giving her my Evo 3D and taking the Evo LTE. I've always done this thru Best Buy and it wasn't a problem. I'm hoping it will work thru Wirefly as well.

Also, it is not activated upon delivery from Wirefly is it? I'm assuming I need to call it in to activate? I just don't want it to get activated when it shows up at my office and then leave her without a phone until she gets home.
