Re: Wirefly Order Shipments Pushback 2-3 weeks..FYI
I never have understood this. The same thing happen when the original EVO came out. What does HTC do make these things by hand....?? You would think when a new phone comes out they know everyone will want one and have a boat load of them ready before release date.....

Re: Wirefly Order Shipments Pushback 2-3 weeks..FYI
It's all got to do with cost. If HTC manufactures a metric crapload of devices in anticipation of huge demand and the demand ends up being lower than projected, then it ends up being an additional cost to HTC for the manufacturing and the unsold inventory. Lots of businesses purposely maintain low inventories for that reason.

Just did BB pre order in store. Got a confirmation printout. Guy said all pre orders will be filled for the 18th. $149.00 after $50.00 dollar gift card. It isn't $119.00, but it is better than $199.00 + tax. Guy was pushing the OG EVO buyback for $50.00. I didn't do it, saving it for back up.

Re: Wirefly Order Shipments Pushback 2-3 weeks..FYI
Look guys, I ordered on 5/7 around 9pm and my status said something along the lines of awaiting inventory. Not 2-3 weeks like some of you others.
I decided to chat online with "diego" and he said that it was 2-3 weeks for all orders and they would ship them out first come first serve. I told him I wanted to cancel so he offered me a pouch and a bluetooth headset. I declined.
I would have waited but I start summer school on the 23rd and I want to tinker with it and have it set up by then. - 05-12-2012, 09:29 AM #56
Re: Wirefly Order Shipments Pushback 2-3 weeks..FYI
Sprint also has a say since it's their phone. They will pre fill the orders placed through Sprint first. Yes it would have been nice to get the phone for $150 or $119.00, but I am fine having to pay the $199. I am selling my iPhone so the phone won't cost me anything. But I learned a long time ago about pre ordering through 3rd party.Thanked by: - 05-12-2012, 09:53 AM #57

Re: Wirefly Order Shipments Pushback 2-3 weeks..FYI
Damn, I don't know what do to? I'm patient but not that patient to wait an additional 2-3 weeks. Is BB still doing the buyback on the OG EVO for $50? Do you have to trade it in now or could you wait until you actually receive the new LTE?

Re: Wirefly Order Shipments Pushback 2-3 weeks..FYI
There is nothing wrong. Just dont complain when that cost saving measure results in your "pre-order" arriving after everyone else's. Its just humorous that everyone ran to these sites offering the phone for so much less and stuck their tongues out at those who went the direct route thru Sprint. That statement was more at the posts I read making fun of those who decided to pay more through Sprint.

I think most of the ppl who are complaining are the ones who canceling their orders. for those of us who rather have the $80 savings, don't mind the wait. some ppl who have to have their new phones right away, and willing to pay premium for it. Some don't and don't mind the wait. nothing wrong with either way.

Re: Wirefly Order Shipments Pushback 2-3 weeks..FYI
They didn't even offer me a bluetooth or a pouch/case. All they offered was expedited shipping whenever the phone is available. I paid $149.99, which is still $50 bucks less than Sprint, but grrs to the delay. My original Evo suffered a screen shatter last week. Not sure how much longer I can stand looking at the spiderweb cracks.

Re: Wirefly Order Shipments Pushback 2-3 weeks..FYI
I cancelled my pre-order. By the time I'd actually get the phone, the GSIII will basically be right around the corner, so I figure I'll wait a little and evaluate both options. It's not like I'm dying for an upgrade at this point. The iPhone 4S isn't exactly a crappy device. I really don't want to pay the ETF either (my AT&t contract isn't up until October). Hell, by that point the new iPhone will be out (as will many other awesome Android devices for sure) and I'll have an even bigger pool of devices to choose from.

Re: Wirefly Order Shipments Pushback 2-3 weeks..FYI
I asked Wirefly on Facebook about orders that were placed in the first day and I got this reply:
Here's hoping we will get it either next week or the week after.Good question Nicholas, we will start shipping on the 18th (the official launch date) for those who ordered the first couple days of the pre-order. We've been told by Sprint that the inventory on the 18th is going to be limited but we should be getting more shipments each week. We are telling people 2-3 weeks just to be safe buy we hope to be able to ship much sooner. The good news is I've played with the new Evo and it's very, VERY nice...you are going to love it. Thanks for shopping with us. Barry - 05-12-2012, 06:22 PM #69

Re: Wirefly Order Shipments Pushback 2-3 weeks..FYI
Normally I wouldn't mind waiting, but I'm going out of town on the 28th of this month, and I need to have the phone before I leave. I cancelled my pre-order with Wirefly and ordered directly from Sprint. I'm not losing out on much money because Sprint has free activation and I got $25 back through Ebates, so that's a savings of $61.

Re: Wirefly Order Shipments Pushback 2-3 weeks..FYI
How does the buyback work, anyway? I have a 64 GB iPhone 4S , so I'd get $290 for it. Does Sprint apply it as a credit, or do you get an actual $290 for it? I forgot all about the buyback. In some form or another I could probably offset the ETF using that.

Re: Wirefly Order Shipments Pushback 2-3 weeks..FYI
According to a chat session I just had on wirefly, there is no delay to my order and it should be in stock on the 18th. I really pressed as you will see below. Either there is no problem, or this guy is full of .
a bit into the conversation:
Manoj : I see that this order is placed for one line with "HTC EVO 4G LTE" phone model which is a pre-order and will be launched on 05/18/2012.
Manoj : So, as soon as the phone will be launched, we will process the order further.
Pace: when will my order ship? Is it delayed or not?
Pace: Friends that placed their order for this phone with wirefly were told there would be a 2-3 week delay in shipment. I want to know if this is true for my order.
Manoj : unfortunately, I can not assure you about it, since the phone has not been launched yet.
Manoj : So, if you wish you can check your order status on 05/18/2012, once the phone will be launched.
Pace: can you tell me why others are being told what I just typed?
Manoj : do not worry about it, since the stock date of the package is 05/18/2012.
Pace: OK, but again, other people that bought from wirefly have been told in a chat session like this that their order was going to be delayed 2-3 weeks. Why is that?
Pace: I need to ensure you ship by the 18th at the latest or I need to cancel my order and go elsewhere. I will be saving this chat.
Manoj : the estimated stock date is 05/18/2012 [HL]and unfortunately, we do not have any information about the delay[/HL], so if you wish you can check your order status on that date.
Pace: thanks - 05-12-2012, 09:08 PM #74
